Winter is just around the corner, and while you might not have immediate plans to conquer Mt. Everest, you will need a jacket to protect you from Jack Frost and Mother Nature.

From footwear to clothing to gear and more, The North Face outfits everyone from serious mountaineers to casual weekend warriors. What’s more, The North Face raises the bar when it comes to environmental friendliness. Outfit your passion for the outdoors with The North Face shoes, The North Face boots and The North Face clothing.

A favorite among outdoor enthusiasts and soccer moms alike, The North Face Denali jacket is the go-to jacket to keep you warm and cozy in cool comfort this winter season. The North Face Denali Jacket is made from environmentally friendly recycled Polartec® 300 series fleece, derived from 90% post industrial waste and 10% post consumer material. In the pursuit to protect you from the elements, The North Face and Onlineshoes.com are generously giving away a brand new Denali Jacket to one lucky reader.

That’s not all. The very same lucky winner need not worry about stylish, cold-weather footwear, because we’re also giving away a free pair of The North Face Boots.

Adventurous gals can get The North Face’s extreme weather protection from head to toe with Onlineshoes.com’s selection of The North Face jackets, The North Face vests, The North Face boots and The North Face shoes. You’ll love the earthy styling of The North Face Abby III. Try the eco-friendly moccasin styling of The North Face Janey boot, with its partially recycled faux fur cuff and HydroSeal™ waterproof membrane for weather protection.

Men can enjoy The North Face’s philosophy of pairing function with fashion in The North Face McMurdo boot. Dri-Lex® fleece joins a faux fur collar for cozy comfort, while PrimaLoft® Insulation provides lightweight, abundant warmth.

One lucky winner will receive his or her very own (and very free) Denali jacket AND a free pair of North Face winter boots. To enter to win, just answer this question: “Where will your adventures take you when wearing the Denali Jacket and a new pair of The North Face winter boots?” (100 words or less) in the comments below.

Entries will be accepted from Tuesday, November 9, 2010, through Monday, November 22, 2010. Good luck!

See the complete contest rules and regulations for details. Open to US residents only. No purchase necessary to win.

***UPDATE*** 11/23/2010

The contest is now closed and the winner is:

Drewman84 “I have taken a few trips over the past several years serving on medical mission trips ranging from Ohio to Uganda and to Nicaragua. These trips are amazingly fun but very exhausting. That is why I am currently planning a trip for myself to climb Mt. Rainier! I have been training for a month now with about 5 more months to go! This jacket and boot combo would be quite helpful! I would use the jacket as an insulating layer and possibly summit day in the boots!”

Congratulations! Thanks to everyone for their wonderful submissions, and make sure to check in with the Get in Gear blog often, we’ve got many more exciting things on the calendar!

  • My North Face gear will take me to the far tundras of the land called Chicago. The winter there can be so cold and snowy that mere morals opt to move to Florida to get away from the extreme climate. The North Face gear will be perfect for my commute to/from work, as well as other adventures throughout town, such as visits to friends and shopping excursions.

  • When wearing the North Face Denali Jacket and the new North Face Winter Boots my adventures would take me from my constant state of “I’m freezing” and can’t get warm to the stare of “I am so cozy and toasty warm”, I wouldn’t have to wear 5 different layers of clothing everyday to work and still be freezing, since the materials used in the North Face Denali jacket and pants are so incredibly warm and earth friendly at the same time. My adventure would be ecofriendly and ecofashionable all winter long! The North Face is making a difference to our planet and I would be fashionable sporting that cause while wearing my new gear on my new adventure!

  • My Denali jacket and NF boots would take me to the see the glorious winter wildlife that comes to the Chesapeake Bay. I am a birdwatcher and in the winter it can be difficult to get out and see birds especially waterfowl because of the cold rough, winds that come across the water and the muddy terrain. An excellent pair of winter boots and a better winter jacket would be so wonderful.

  • Where will my adventures take me? This year they are going to take me to Tahoe and hopefully Colorado but North Face gear lasts for years and years so that Denali Jacket and the North Face winter boots could see some serious travels while they’re on me. It will be fun to find out, Canada, Alaska, Chile and New Zealand are all in my plans for the next few years.

Thanks for your Consideration…Summer

  • What I call Mt Neighborhood (a.k.a. my neighborhood). Its very hilly where I live and you need traction on everything, cars to boots to rolling trashcans.

I stretched the life of my boots last year by putting my feet in plastic bags before setting them in my boots. I did not feel the moisture coming in but . . . Enough is enough. They are shot and I would greatly like these wonderful boots.

    Mt. Neighborhood is waiting.

  • We used to live in Palmyra, NY where we needed those kind of outerwear to be in the snow. We lived there for 9 years and loved it but we moved back to Florida to be with family again. We would love to go back and visit such special people that became family instead of friends. They let us know when it does get cold and how much snow they get at one time. At one time when we lived there we had a winter with over 150 inches of snow. I loved seeing what the snow does to the trees and especially the hills to tobaggan and sled on. We miss the snow but are not equipped to go and visit during the chilly season. Lori Holloway

The adventures of life – navigating the slippery,(wet, muddy and snow) season parking lots, hilly sidewalks and trails along the river and up the foothills trails of the mountain range with pup in tow stopping to view the old growth and just getting back and forth from the bus or the mailbox (this can get you soaked) but with a North Face Jacket and boots that wouldn’t happen!
    Thanks,

And I would also love the Denali jacket because North Face is theee IT brand around here and I want to be one of the cool kids. ;)

Then to the grocery store, on foot and pushing the double stroller (because I don’t drive) with children #3 and #4. Then back home, and up and down the stairs 8 trillion times to load and unload the washing machine and dryer. Then to the bus stop to retrieve #1. Then back home to clean and cook. And finally, my jacket and boots will accompany me on my walk to the mail box, hoping for a prize-winning entry from PCH that will put an end to all this drudgery. Whew!

We had a hot and dry summer so a new Denali jacket and boots by North Face will definately take me outdoors to brave the cold and snow without fear. I don’t want to face the weather alone without good protection. I freeze easily so I would love to try these wonderful products and put them to the test. I would feel honored to wear such a great product as I have seen many people wearing the jackets.

  • I have taken a few trips over the past several years serving on medical mission trips ranging from Ohio to Uganda and to Nicaragua. These trips are amazingly fun but very exhausting. That is why I am currently planning a trip for myself to climb Mt. Rainier! I have been training for a month now with about 5 more months to go! This jacket and boot combo would be quite helpful! I would use the jacket as an insulating layer and possibly summit day in the boots!

We’ll be making our annual winter break trip to Maine to visit Granddad – which always includes feet of snow and some serious adventuring on his hundreds of acres of Maine woodlands. We also will visit Grandpa and Meme in Boise, which also means some fantastic outdoor time at Bogus Basin. These boots would get there use here in Syracuse too!

  • Since my daughter moved to Maine two years ago I’ve visited a few cities but haven’t yet explored Acadia N.P. I already own three toasty North Face jackets, but your North Face boots would be a most welcome addition to my spring hike there! In the meantime, the tundra we call Chicago during January would put them to good use!

  • The North Face Denali & Janey boots will be warmly received for Upstate NY winters! Many times I have “stolen” my kids’ Denali to ZIP outside in the middle of a wintry blast. I could only dream about being cozy & warm in my own and my feet would be not only comfy & gorgeous but eco-friendly to BOOT in the North Face Janey Boot! Those boots would allow me to continue 4 mi walks into the winter instead of packing on the winter weight. North Face could save my LIFE this winter!

  • Are you kidding? Adventures? Every day is an adventure when you’re living in the mountains. We wear our ‘gear’ clothes everyday; and especially when doing pedestrian things like golfing, which we like to do as long as it hasn’t snown yet, and it’s above freezing. Warm boots and a flexible tech jacket are perfect for 9 holes during the holiday season ;-)

  • My Northface will take me to and from classes in my doctoral program in clinical psychology. It will also allow me comfort in my client’s home that I see for work as a behavioral specialist consultant. Some of these clients have fallen on financial difficulties and can not afford adequate housing or heat for their housing. It will also allow me to take my mother back and forth to doctor appointments- she is disabled and walks with a cane and the winter months are the hardest to take her to physical therapy, and medical appointments because she is afraid to fall and further injure herself so I must help her with additional support while walking.

  • What can I say, I love North Face, love the look, love the quality, love the style. My dad has had the same North Face jacket for 7 years. He had a new zipper put in and says it will last a few more years. I think it is time for a new North Face. He has worn his North Face jacket out west on ski trips, in the Bounty Waters Canoe Area in Minnesota, and he wears it daily for warmth in Minnesota’s wonderful winters. A new Denali jacket and pair of North Face boots would keep him warm on his daily trek to his greatest adventure, his classroom, he is a teacher.

My Denali jacket and Northface boots will allow me more time outdoors with my children on those snowy days (they tolerate the cold a whole lot more than I do). My Denali Jacket and NorthFace Boots also allow me a night in town for my monthly “Ladies Nite” with my BFF’s. If I recall, I’ll be using those boots to kick around for a bocce ball set, the bag of a lawnmower, and perhaps the forgotten tongs from our last BBQ. It’ll take a while, so the warm coat will provide a welcomed sweat.

I am working on my Ed.D in Educational Leadership through Liberty University which is an adventure in itself; however, in addition to this, I must attend various intensive classes at the University. As a native of Austin, Texas, I do not experience heavy winters; therefore, my wardrobe is not sufficient to withstand the expected cold wintry climate of Lynchburg, Virginia during December. Because of this, I plan to wear my Denali Jacket and my new pair of The North Face winter boots to class during my winter intensive adventure there!
