Some people like to slip out of their shoes and into a pair of slippers the instant they walk into the house—and wouldn’t dream of taking them off until they slide into bed at night. Others don’t bother digging their slippers out of the back of the closet until the first snowflake of the season has been documented.
Whether you’re the kind of person who gets a new pair (or three!) every year or someone who’s still using the scuffs they had on when Kristin shot J.R., Onlineshoes.com has a vast selection of women’s slippers to toast every last, chilly toe.
Of course, there are ordinary, everyday slippers…and then there are Daniel Green slippers. Daniel Green has a history that dates to 1881, when Green, an entrepreneurial traveling shoe salesman from New York, was shown felt shoes that had been crafted from piano felt trimmings and worn by the felt factory’s workers to keep their feet warm and comfortable on the hard stone floors. The factory was contracted to make felt shoes for Green and his brother, William, to sell exclusively, and thus the Daniel Green footwear company was born.
Some 100 million pairs later, it’s clear that if anybody knows how to keep your feet stylishly toasty, it’s Daniel Green. With styles that offer everything from classic, timeless appeal to contemporary fashion, a pair of Daniel Green slippers for women will complete any lounge-worthy ensemble.
Be extra earth-conscious and eco-friendly with the Daniel Green Portia clog, a soft, indoor/outdoor style made from natural and recycled wool, featuring a suede mudguard, cozy fleece lining and molded latex footbed for comfort and support.
For a more traditional look, the Daniel Green Nikki moccasin fits the bill. Also featuring an indoor/outdoor sole, this feminine women’s slipper is made from supple nubuck and decorated with a riveted pattern on the classic moc toe for a bit of flair. Inside, a jersey cotton lining provides lightweight warmth for year-round wear; a fluffy, fleecy, sherpa-covered latex footbed offers dependable support.
Two randomly chosen blog readers will be fortunate enough to win a pair of Daniel Green slippers, either the Daniel Green Nikki or the Daniel Green Portia (the winner gets to choose which style as well as the color!), with a retail value of up to $50. Simply answer the following question (in 100 words or less) in the comments below, “Did you have a favorite pair of slippers when you were a child? If so, what made them special?” (My favorites were fuzzy tiger slippers, because ‘Tiger’ was my dad’s nickname for me.)
Entries will be accepted from Tuesday, November 30, 2010 through Monday, December 6, 2010. Good luck and stay warm!
See the complete contest rules and regulations for details.
Open to U.S. residents only. No purchase necessary to win.

I didn’t really wear slippers when I was younger. I just went around the house in stocking feet. I do now have a favorite pair that I have worn out.
