I’m not sure what’s gotten into me, but lately I’ve been looking for excuses to visit the doctor. And his name? Dr. Martens.
It started with my earlier blog about the McMartens Tartan, which have the appeal of a kid’s rain boot, yet they also make me think impure thoughts of Sean Connery and Gerard Butler. (P.S. I Love You, too, man.)

Fickle girl that I am, I’ve lately shifted my affections to the Dr. Martens Kiele Blossom 14 Eye Zip Boot, which is part of the Doc’s Gallery Collection. I dig the combination of the zipper and the front lace because it makes them easier to get in and out of than a mid-calf lace-up boot without the side zip, plus it’s a cinch to adjust the fit. The fabric-lined Kiele Blossom boot has gorgeous pink floral embroidery on the outside of the shaft, which is stitched of Dr. Martens Softy T leather. (A full grain leather, Softy T is lighter weight and has a more flexible fit for out-of-the-box comfort. Believe me, there was no break-in period for this boot.) Dr. Martens says the decoration represents cherry blossoms, even though “kiele” doesn’t mean cherry in any language.
Another style from the Gallery Collection that I love is the Petula Mono Flower 1B99 boot. Built on the same DML comfort last as the Kiele, the fit is similar, but the Petula boot is made from slightly less pliable lamper leather, which has a subtle sheen to the finish. Wear them uptown, wear them downtown.

Gals with wider feet take notice: This style feels a bit more snug at the instep and forefoot than the Kiele, which fits me perfectly and still leaves room for tights and socks.
Seriously, I’m going to have to put this Dr. Martens fetish in check. People are going to start thinking I’m a hypochondriac.

The McMartin 1460 8 eye boot is tooooo cute!
