It’s day eleven of the 12 Days of Giving and it’s time for a little free time. It’s the holidays after all, and there is plenty of running around that needs to be done. Of course, there is absolutely no reason you can’t do it in style, so we are featuring great shoes from Tsubo today.

For the women, we have the Tsubo Cusus bootie. This snappy little number could take you from work to the mall to dinner with friends, and not even blink once. It’s as comfortable as it is versatile and features a full grain leather upper and EVA padding in the footbed. And don’t worry if it gets a little slick out, Tsubo has covered the sole of the Cusus with clever little traction pods.

Women's Tsubo Cusus

The men’s Tsubo Tung has a cool, slightly retro vibe to it. It looks like an ankle boot, feels like a sneaker and is designed to keep you comfortable and looking casual all day long. It is not hard to imagine these versatile boots with jeans, khakis or maybe even a Utilikilt, if that’s your thing and you have the legs for it.

Men's Tsubo Tung

  • I decorate with naturals like pine cones, twigs, berries. Also recycle alot for decor. For example I have all the cards I have ever gotten and the ones I have as favorites I will frame them using ribbons and wrapping paper for the background/border. I set the framed pictures around with candles and greenery from my evergreens .They give great memories, beautiful holiday decor and such sweet memories. One of my Favorites is from my grand mother who died 20 yrs ago from breast cancer. The border is from the last gift I got from her and the ribbon is also from the gift. The card is the last one I got from her before she got her wings and left this world..

  • We do a big tree, light and assorted light up, moving decorations out front. We have young kids and dogs, and a cat, so inside we keep it to a minimum, we have a plush Snoopy stand up in the living room, stockings and gingerbread candles on the mantel, and a Christmas cookie jar and plate with the musical nutcracker on the butlers pantry. That is about it for us. :)

—By bocomomma on December 15, 2011 at 1:36 am
  • We like to keep it cozy with extra fuzzy blankets abounding, flickering scented candles, and an overflowing platter of cookies for all to enjoy! I like to throw in a few pops of sparkle here and there so it never gets dull!

  • The Christmas tree and icicle lights on the front of the house!

—By Christine Dinsmore on December 15, 2011 at 3:30 am
  • We decorate with lights inside and outside. tiny fake trees, stockings on the wall (no fireplace). this year we had all our friends over and had them help us decorate the tree. everyone brought an ornament that represented them and hung it on the tree. its quirky since it was a bunch of college students but it rocks!

—By ferriz on December 15, 2011 at 4:05 am
  • I wrap my bird feeders outside with garland, and hang decorations from them as well. Inside I am sure to decorate the mantle with lots of garland, red and gold ribbon, and of course lots of holiday scented candles throughout the house.
We always have a list of “gifts” for needy families that we all pick a tag from .

—By zeern on December 15, 2011 at 4:16 am
  • We don’t do very much holiday decorating, but we do make our Christmas tree out of cardboard, it’s not very green, but then again it’s very “green”!

  • I am a minimalist for holiday decor. I decorate late and sparse, I don’t have an eye for decor at all so I keep it simple.

  • I love christmas lights. I decorate with all the lights I can! I have some nicknacks I put out as well, a peace sign and a couple of snowmen. I also like to display my kids christmas art so we have several pictures of reindeer around my house right now as well.

—By vket on December 15, 2011 at 5:04 am
  • Another member of the ‘over the top’ club. We have a Victorian so we do it up proper including the big ass tree in the main foyer with the staircase and stained glass. We also do an aluminum pom pom tree to keep things from getting too stuffy and proper. I love Xmas – I can be tacky as hell and enjoy every overdone bit!

    —By ky2here on December 15, 2011 at 5:19 am
  • I love placing cuttings from Christmas trees around the house.

—By bayle on December 15, 2011 at 5:24 am
  • This year not too much, just the tree, stockings and a few decorations on the windowsills.

    —By ariannasma216 on December 15, 2011 at 5:32 am
  • After a few years of not decorating and being out of the spirit, last year I found my Christmas spirit thawing out. I bought a small tree for my apartment and decorated it all in blue and silver just like my grandfather used to do. Then I took out the cresh (nativity/manger) that belonged to my parents but was given to me and although Im not particularly religious, I set it atop my tv so I could look at it when I was watching the news. Just a reminder of what Christmas is all about. The golden rule and unconditional love. This year I expanded and even put a peace wreath on the door. its all very simple but very sentimental. If I win the tsubos tungs, ill decorate them too!

—By kmlwolfster on December 15, 2011 at 5:40 am
  • Mostly I try to keep it simple with live wreaths and bows/ribbons and just a few items. Less to clean up afterwards. I would choose the womens cusus bootie.

    —By T on December 15, 2011 at 5:48 am
  • I’m pretty minimal, Just a simple tree decorated is about it. Kids are grown and gone so its just the little woman and I.

  • All the basics with a few extras! Of course, a Christmas tree with a mixture of vintage and new ornaments, white outside lights on the bushes and trees. Bright red Poinsettias in the entryway to welcome guests and lots of snowmen in the kitchen windows to keep the festive mood during the long winter days.

—By Sheri on December 15, 2011 at 6:39 am
  • I like to get my Christmas tree put up the first weekend in November. Everybody says I’m crazy for putting it up so early but I like to get more enjoyment out of it. This also frees up all of my weekends for other holiday activities.

—By Janet on December 15, 2011 at 6:41 am
  • I admit things have not been going so well this holiday in the decorating category. I finally found a job six months ago and I have been working my tail off to try and get caught up from being unemployed for quite some time. Right now all we have are lights on a Christmas tree that my son helped put up. He wanted it like a sunrise and has yellow lights at the bottom followed by pink, green then blue at the top. It’s really quite pretty even if there is nothing else on the tree. We call it The Sun will Come Up tree.

—By quilligan on December 15, 2011 at 6:43 am

We light up the outside and pretty much every room gets decorated.
    Thanks so much.

  • Traditionally we unpack our special decoration trunks the day after Thanksgiving…this year, we finally did what we’ve talked about doing for years…we put up our christmas tree, the wreath and our stockings just in time for Thanksgiving! The tiny lights, the ornaments we’ve treasured for years and our special nativity scene from Jerusalem got their debut early this season.

—By Amy Renfroe on December 15, 2011 at 7:34 am
  • This year, we got a tabletop sized Christmas tree from Whole Foods. It is small but just the perfect size for us. It doesn’t make a mess but smells just lovely. We love putting all the ornaments on it from trips we’ve taken and fun things we’ve done. It’s a trip down memory lane everytime.

—By Amy Carmody on December 15, 2011 at 7:36 am
  • Let the children do it all. This is their favorite time of year. They feel so important being in charge of the decorations.

—By Care on December 15, 2011 at 7:38 am
  • I mainly just decorate the tree these days. When my kids were little I went all out.

—By Terry C on December 15, 2011 at 7:42 am
  • Very carefully–I have a two year old, so that means no more glass ornaments for a few years! And I have to be flexible cause I’ve lost track of how many times the tree’s been redecorated.

—By tanya on December 15, 2011 at 7:42 am
  • I decorate with my Nutcracker collection…all over the house and the tree.

—By Shari on December 15, 2011 at 7:48 am

—By kim on December 15, 2011 at 7:56 am
  • We put a tree up this year… otherwise we keep it minimal.

—By jordan on December 15, 2011 at 7:58 am
  • We start decorating for the Holidays as early as after halloween! I know that sounds crazy but we do. We start with our fake Christmas tree from our garage. Then my husband would put the lights out and hang them inside and outside our house, over the fence and the little trees out front. And also hang on a log post is a plastic Santa Claus like he’s trying to go to our rooftop from our front porch.

    —By jamesandjo@msn.com on December 15, 2011 at 7:58 am
  • We usually have a tree and a menorah because we are a blended family

—By Denise M on December 15, 2011 at 8:07 am
  • A tree (of course) covered in tons of lights, ornaments, and ribbon (no tensile because the kitties will eat it). An evergreen wreath at the front door, evergreen across the fireplace mantel, LOVE the smell of evergreen!

—By cmel on December 15, 2011 at 8:16 am
  • I haven’t had time to decorate this year, however usually I have lots of mini twinkle lights wound around fresh pine and flowers.

—By mailmandave on December 15, 2011 at 8:20 am
  • A wreath on the door, a garland across the fireplace mantle, and a Christmas tree bedecked with hundreds of lights.

    —By SqrrlyGirl22 on December 15, 2011 at 8:21 am
  • To be honest I don’t really decorate, I support the wife’s decorating by either staying out of the way, moving the decoration boxes around for her, or helping her put something up when she needs my help. So I contribute in my own way even if it’s not decorating! She does a fantastic job though!

—By BradyM on December 15, 2011 at 8:21 am
  • I hang lights, put up a tree, and even put a lighted santa in the porch.

—By kedougla on December 15, 2011 at 8:28 am
  • We’re retired and our kids and granddaughters live out of town, so decorating is minimal these days. A tabletop tree and a few special pieces from Christmases past are about the extent of it.

—By Aisling on December 15, 2011 at 8:33 am
  • we decorate our yard w/ lights & snowmen & we put up a tree. also i make a lot of DIY crafts for the home – inexpensive & easy.

—By amy on December 15, 2011 at 8:36 am
  • I put up my snow village, my 150 piece snowman collection gets spread throughout the house, and we always cut down a real tree. The kids go hunting in the woods for pine cones and interesting sticks, blooms, berries etc. Then we stick them in among the branches of the tree. We decorate it with traditional decor too. But we love the hint of nature on the tree!

—By Carrie R on December 15, 2011 at 8:42 am
  • I’m obsessed with snowmen, so they’re everywhere in my holiday decor

—By Betty Smith on December 15, 2011 at 8:43 am

  • My husband loves to decorate the outside of the house for the holidays and I do the inside. So nice to share in the festivities for that day. Each year he seems to add a few more strands of lights and gets so excited by his work!!! We have a beautiful artificial tree we got 22 years ago because our son had allergies. Still looks good (and real!!) and I love adding new decor every year. When we are done we sit back with the lights on and enjoy!!!

    —By a_hershberger on December 15, 2011 at 9:25 am
  • Now that we have 4 kids, I take a more “minimalistic” approach. I don’t decorate as much as I used to or put out as many elaborate, glass items, in fear of everything getting broken! We get a fresh Christmas tree & decorate it, we put lights in the windows, & a wreath on the door. We got a small 2 foot talking Christmas tree for the toddlers to decorate (to keep them away from the big tree!) & a dancing santa to keep them entertained. Other than that, I’ll wait until they’re a little older to bring out the nice stuff again, Lol.

  • I pu up a wreath on the door and have large garlands I made years ago that get tied to the staircase and across the top of the sliding glass door. I usually put up a Christmas tree with the many decorations I’ve been collecting over the years and the tree looks the same every year!

    —By orchidlady01 on December 15, 2011 at 9:38 am
  • Not liking commercial versions of nativity sets, I built my own from plywood. We display it on the front lawn. Help’s remind folks of the “reason for the season.” My husband has added blow-up tigger, thomas, and helicopter santa around it since we had kids. Inside, we have a modest tree that my little ones get to decorate, lots of stuffed reindeer on the steps, and lots of snowmen that folks have given me over the years. My favorites are the ornaments my college friends helped me make back in the day… good times!

    —By AuroraMomO3 on December 15, 2011 at 9:46 am
  • For the holidays i feel everywhere you turn there should be a little xmas spirit; be it paper snowflakes on the windows, homemade ornaments scattered among the shelves, or little rheindeer antlers for your furry friend. In addition those mens boots would look phenominal in my collection.

    —By wagner09 on December 15, 2011 at 9:47 am
  • Tree with lights and decorations. Lights around the windows and some mirrors and some shelves. Wreath on the front door. Reindeer antlers and Santa cape on our wonderful dog.

  • We don’t decorate as much as we used to in the past. All of the kids are out of the house so we just put out a few holiday candles and hang a few wreaths.

—By Rick on December 15, 2011 at 10:02 am
  • I put up decorations all around the house and outside and put up a real tree, the smell of that real tree and candles burning just make it feel like Christmas.

—By kmrunnels on December 15, 2011 at 10:05 am
  • I decorate for the holidays by trying to use a ladder as little as possible. Climbing up on the porch, I imagine myself as one of those free-climbers scaling the face Half-Dome in Yosemite National Park. Only instead of a cool chalk bag, I have an unorganized tangle of icicle lights hanging from my belt–and a three-year old for a spotter. Happy Holidays!

—By SteveM on December 15, 2011 at 10:16 am
  • I love doing all the traditional stuff. I put up a tree with lots of ornaments, decorate the mantle with garland and hang stockings, put lights up around the house and a wreath on the front door. Then just add a few candles and decorative knick-knacks, sit back and enjoy!

—By Lori on December 15, 2011 at 10:16 am
  • The past couple of years my holiday decorating has been understated. Next year, I’ll be back in my own place and can put up the tree and go all out!

—By San D on December 15, 2011 at 10:35 am
  • I have 3 cats so no tall Christmas trees or Poinsettas for me. Every room inside is decorated with anything gingerbread I can find! Our canoe is in the front yard with a Christmas tree inside and a million lights streaming from the porch, trees, garage, canoe to the mailbox (not quite as bright as a runway but almost!)

  • just a small tree.

—By Beth B on December 15, 2011 at 10:48 am
  • I have some simple holiday decorations around the house, but my favorite is my tree with it’s ornaments. My grandma has given me an ornament every year of my life, including the Christmas my mom was pregnant with me. It’s such a treasure every year to unwrap each ornament and find a prominant place for them on my tree.

  • we put up a tree and lil figurines around the living room… runner_girl5k at yahoo dot com

    —By ~K~ on December 15, 2011 at 10:51 am
  • We decorate like crazy -the tree, the mantle, and usually outside too (though not this year – too much bad weather). We’ve got those shiny ball ornaments strung throughout the house – you cannot miss the Christmas spirit here!

—By Cupboard Love on December 15, 2011 at 10:59 am
  • The kids and I like to decorate together, we spread the ornaments around in different piles of homemade and bought ones, they put the ornaments on the tree, while I help pick out the next to hand them to hang. I love how the tree looks when kids do the decorating! I do the lite garland down the stair rail and they watch me as they drink hot chocolate.

—By tracysky on December 15, 2011 at 11:02 am
  • We decorate by putting up the biggest tree we can squeeze into our living room. We add our Dickensville Village underneath tree and all around the house. We then add a candle in each window and string multi-colored lights on the porch and along the garage. To top it all off we make Christmas cookies until they’re coming out of our ears. We love Christmas!!

    —By moviechic68 on December 15, 2011 at 11:08 am
  • This year pull out 45 years worth of decorations combined into multiple boxes – they are then distributed throughout the living room and dining room , thrown on the Christmas tree, lights on the outside of the house including several bushes.

—By Joseph on December 15, 2011 at 11:10 am
  • We decorate minimally because I am a scrooge… lol. A tree, lights inside the house, stocking on the fireplace and we hang up the xmas cards we get.

  • We decorate with a freshly-cut Monterrey pine, harvested from a tree farm in Upcountry Maui, where we live. Our tree includes decorations from our childhood, and from around the world. We always decorate the house with locally-grown poinsietta’s from Maui’s nurseries. We use lots of C-7 colored bulbs on the tree & lanai. We also collect snowglobes and nativity scenes. Also, being a pianist, I enjoy playing holiday selections for our friends to hear. Our dog, Walter, has bells & lei’s around his neck. Of course, we watch carefully & he seems to enjoy the jingles! And our mom’s & friends send homemade fruitcakes and cookies. Yummy, yum-yum and Fa, la, la, la, la!!!

Our artificial tree is loaded with ornaments each on representing a place that we lived, school that our kids attended or some important milestone in our family. They tell a story of our lives and as we decorate the tree we exchange memories of places and people that have touched our lives.

Decorating at this time of year, always brings back memories of being a kid and helping my parents decorate, and the joy I always felt coming home and seeing what we did together as a family.

BUT, I love a good Christmas tree and have a large collection of ornaments, many of which are inherited vintage pieces… so, when we get a bigger place, he already knows to expect a big bright tree to be there every Christmas! ;)

And I would love, love, love a pair of Tsubo Cusus booties. I actually need new boots but can’t afford any right now.
