It’s day eight of the 12 Days of Giving and it’s time for us to draw a little winter holiday scene for you. Picture this: you’ve got nowhere else to be for hours and hours; you’re sitting in front of a crackling fire, sipping the finest hot cocoa you’ve ever made, wearing slippers and listening to the wind push through the trees. Aaaah, now that is the kind of winter people can support. And  Giesswein can make the dream happen…well…at least the part about the slippers. I mean, how would they even know if you had a fireplace? What they do know all about is slippers, and when it comes to making dream-worthy slippers, Giesswein is something of a genius.

Today’s giveaway features two classic styles from which the winner can choose. The women’s Giesswein Ammern is a backless, mule-style wool slipper. They are the absolute definition of wearability and easy style. Like all of Giesswein’s slippers, the Ammern is designed to keep your feet comfortable and your toes toasty.

Glasswein Ammern

For the men, we have the Giesswein Vent 11 wool slippers. They’re breathable, water-resistant, machine washable and eco-friendly. Just look at them, all fuzzy and warm. Forget that whole sitting by the fire, sipping cocoa dream. Picture the look on someone’s face when you give them a pair of these as a gift. That should make you feel toasty inside.

Glasswein Vent 11

As always, entering the 12 Days of Giving is easy. Simply use the comment space below to answer today’s Question of the Day: “What always gets you in the Holiday Spirit?”

All you have to do is tell us what puts you in the mood to celebrate the holidays and you are in the running for a pair of cozy Giesswein slippers.

Same fine print, different day:
To be eligible for this drawing, you must answer the Question of the Day in the comment section below (200 words maximum) before 11:59 PM (Pacific) on Monday, December 12, 2011. One daily winner will be randomly selected from all eligible entries, and may select one of the day’s prizes. Today’s winner’s name will be published here, on this giveaway blog. Open to US residents only. No purchase necessary to win.

  • We turn off the television and computers, dim the lights andput on Christmas music. Then the family gathers ’round the unadorned tree to sing silent night by candlelight. Then the youngest child selects and passes out one ornament to every person. When we begin to place our ornaments I get that warm and fuzzy feeling of Christmas. We share hot chocolate then, light the advent kranz, light up the tree and take a family photo. Christmas is at our house at last!

  • Wow. We are totally Christmased at this point. The Ipod is set to Pandora: Harry Connick Holiday. There is a gingerbread candle burning in the family room, smells delicious. All our holiday favorites are stocked on the dvr so we can watch them together as a family. The tree is dressed, the lights outside are lit and the stocking have been hung. But the best and yes the thing that really got me into the holiday spirit was a visit my 77 year young Mom and I took to go see her maid of honor from her wedding(52 years ago). The smile on her face was the best. Hope your Holidays are Happy.

  • it’s the time of year when the leaves all fall off of the trees and it starts to get cold and then when the Christmas lights come out and the songs are on the radio, that’s when I better start getting into the spirit before it’s too late and I have to hustle to get everything done. I’m in it now! Falalalalalala!!

  • It really hit me the other night ;) we have the living room decorated and the porch, putting up live tree tomorrow.I stepped out on the porch and the wind was blowing through the pines and sprinkling rain on the tin roof.
The lights were on on the porch and the tinsel was glistening in the wind against the lights and the sound of the grandkids laughter was alive in the house and could hear the patter of the feet as they ran down the hall on the wooden floor.Due to a family members addiction ,we in our 40′s raise and have custody of 3 of our grandchildren. We are blessed with 5 wonderful grandchildren and 3 kids ,grown. My moms still with us and my bros and sister .We own our home and vehicles ,that in itself is good now days.I looked toward the heavens and thanked God for the blessings i do have from him…My christmas spirit this year came alive this year …
