On Groundhog Day, Punxsutawney Phil predicted six more weeks of winter. But it seems that Seattle didn’t get the message. Spring is sprouting up all over the place.
With more sunny days and less rain, it’s the perfect walking weather. Whether you’re walking the dog, running errands or taking a stroll to the coffee shop, explore a few options for your urban endeavors:

One of my favorites is the Merrell Tetra Launch Waterproof boot. Flat and fabulous, this boot has the ability to inspire a smile on gloomy Seattle days. The rain has been pretty relentless in the Pacific Northwest.
So… to inspire a vacation to someplace warm and sunny, I’ve started to pack my eco-friendly travel bag. Along with running shorts and bathing suits, I’ve packed lots of lightweight dresses and skirts. And of course, I’m including the wonderful Clarks Un.hoist walking sandal.

As a native Seattleite and runner, I’ve done my fair share of running the Seattle full and half marathons. This challenging course was the first marathon I ever ran and I qualified for the Boston marathon. Pretty exciting!
This year, as part of the Chuckit Running Group, I got to run the Seattle half marathon as a pacer.

Fitness favorites for the average Jane.
After many years spent hiking, camping and mountain climbing, I’ve accumulated a lot of gear from The North Face. But one of my favorites is The North Face Redpoint Jacket. Granted, this wonderful jacket isn’t anything you would catch legendary mountaineer Conrad Anker or climber/photographer Jimmy Chin wearing, but it’s done a fantastic job keeping me warm and dry on urban explorations of Seattle.
Cute and casual, the women’s Redpoint Jacket has become a well-worn everyday essential. It’s great for commuting to work, wearing on weekends or putting on after yoga practice.
