Naya Marigold: A Sexy, Sensational Wedge for Wide Feet

Women's Naya Marigold Wedge Sandals

Some secrets are just too good to keep, and the Naya Marigold slingback wedge is definitely one of ‘em.

Here’s the situation up front: Supplies are dwindling because other people discovered this delightful shoe before I did. If you’re too late for this year’s stock, keep an eye on Naya sandal styles that will start showing up next spring—they might come out with something similar. I could go on and on about how Naya is an eco-friendly offshoot brand of Naturalizer that uses only chrome-free leathers, nickel-free hardware and recycled cork in their soles—all worthy, eco-friendly features. However, what’s most important here is fit.

Rejoice in the Clarks Rejoice Arial, A Great Sandal for Wide Feet

Women's Clarks Rejoice Arial Platinum Leather Sandal

Even though warm spring weather hasn’t arrived everywhere (outside my window, for example), I’m dying for new sandals, and the Clarks Rejoice Arial in Platinum, part of the Clarks Artisan collection, is a style that’s at the top of my list.

For some reason, metallics have been beckoning to me: They’re so much lighter and brighter than the brown and black shoes and boots that I live in from October through March, yet they’re not as glaring as pure white. (Generally speaking, I don’t adhere to that outmoded no-white-before-Memorial-Day rule, but I haven’t worn white footwear—aside from Keds® sneaks—since a pair of dangerously high cork platform sandals I owned in high school. Thought I looked pretty cool…right up until I twisted my ankle in front of a bunch of uber-popular seniors. BUH-bye, sandals of death.)

Anyhow, I want something a little dressier that I can wear to work or at the weekend with a cute denim skirt, and, of course, I require a wide width. As added bonuses, not only can I freely accessorize with gold or silver jewelry if I want to be all matchy, but, because the Clarks Rejoice Arial is a slide, I’m able to shave a few precious seconds off the time it takes me to get out the door. (Don’t pretend you don’t know what I mean. You, you there in back, trying to pretend you’re not always running a half-hour late…I’m talkin’ to you!)

Whaddaya think? Pretty cute, right? Just don’t buy all the size 9 wides until I get a pair.

The Perfect Royal Wedding Shoe: The Naot Pleasure Pump

Women's Naot Pleasure Mary Jane Pump

I was up late, laaaaate last night and got sucked in by the nuptial proceedings in London: It only seemed appropriate, since I watched Prince William’s mum tying the knot at St. Paul’s nearly three decades ago.

Once upon a time, I lived in London. A temporary office job required that I pass by Westminster Abbey daily, and I’d often wander in and visit Poets’ Corner, wistfully murmuring to the tomb of Geoffrey Chaucer “Someday I, too, will write wonderful things…about shoes!” (Trivia factoid: the name “Chaucer,” from French, means “maker of shoes.” No joke. Look it up.)

Better-Than-Ever Wide Shoes for Women and Men

Wide Shoes Womens Wide Sandals

As anyone—such as yours truly—with wide feet knows, finding attractive, comfortable men’s and women’s wide width shoes can be a challenge.

I will forever be scarred by the memory of being dragged at the age of 10 to the basement of the small, local department store in the Alaska burg where I was raised, in search of ‘dress shoes’ for Easter Sunday. The only thing that fit was a pair of bone-colored, lace-up orthopedic oxfords that any self-respecting, god-fearing, socially and politically conservative grandmother would have turned her back on. They were purchased, worn once (at gunpoint, essentially), and consigned to the back of my closet, never again to see the light of day.

Happily, those days are gone (if not entirely forgotten, or so my therapist would say—ba-DUM-bum!). Wide shoes for women are now manufactured in gorgeous styles, colors and materials that women with wide feet can proudly wear in public. Likewise, men’s wide shoes, styles that go well beyond the athletic and therapeutic, grow more handsome every season. Be sure to check out the full range of new arrival wide shoes for men and women at Onlineshoes.com, including the following:

Schlep Like a Superstar

Women's Baggallini Milano Tote

Achieve Shopping Domination with the Perfect Tote Bag.

I confess, I envy those women who seem capable of carrying everything they need for an entire day in one of those tiny crossbody bags the size of a deck of cards. I think of them as the MacGyver of accessorizing: I couldn’t even carry a day’s worth of lipsticks in a purse that size, which is why I’m a fan of the tote bag. I mean, really, what it’s designed to do is advertised right there in the name—it “totes” things!

For down-to-earth, back-to-basics functionality with a dash of feminine flair, I love the Keen Coronado Tote in Violet Quartz. With only one interior zip pocket it doesn’t offer a lot of organization, but the top zipper keeps the contents safe and securely contained. Plus it looks great with these when I want to go all matchy.

Tall Boots to Boost Your Spirits

Women's Fall Fashion Boots

Are you one of those people who can hardly wait for the thermometer to dip so you can pull on your favorite fluffy sweater and slip into a long, tall pair of boots? Me too. The end of daylight savings time notwithstanding, as soon as I get thwacked in the head with a vibrantly hued maple leaf, I know that the calendar has officially ticked over into Boot Weather. (If I had a big enough closet, I’d stock a different pair of knee-high boots for every day of the week, but alas, I do not.) At any rate, here are a few of my current favorite boots of the season that are as comfortable as they are beautiful:
