Anuschka handbags are hand-made, hand-painted, wearable art. Each bag features a powerful design inspired by nature that is individually crafted from fine, hand-cut leather. Natural growth marks and wrinkles in the leather speak to its high quality. Once constructed, the bags are painted by hand, inspected for quality, autographed by the designer, and shipped around the world.
The company's founder, Swapan Basu, his designer wife, Roma, and their son, Bhaskar, run the business from India and the United States. The company, now known as The Basu Group, is dedicated to employing craftsmen and artists who would otherwise struggle with poverty.
